Our country's stone carving products have been famous both at home and abroad since ancient times and have a long history. They are a pearl in the application of stone decoration in my country. Their exquisite craftsmanship is highly praised by Japanese stone industry players who pursue details.
The regions where my country's stone carving industry has developed relatively well are: Fujian, Hebei, Beijing, Shandong, Guangdong, and Zhejiang. At the same time, Sichuan, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Shanxi, Heilongjiang, Shaanxi, Yunnan and other regions are also developing reasonably well.
Fujian Stone Sculpture
Stone carvings in Fujian are mainly concentrated in Hui'an, Nan'an, Quanzhou, Jinjiang, Zhangzhou and other places. The most famous and influential one is Hui'an County, which is known as the "Hometown of Chinese Stone Sculpture". Fujian can be said to be the largest stone carving production base in my country, and there are rich types of stone carvings. Granite, marble, sandstone, limestone and other carvings can be mass-produced and supplied. At the same time, the wide variety covers daily necessities, architectural carvings, decorative carvings, etc., and craftsmanship The types are also very comprehensive, including round carvings, relief carvings, sunken carvings, shadow carvings, openwork carvings and other carvings. The output of Fujian's stone carvings is very huge. It can produce hundreds of thousands of stone carvings every year, and the quality is excellent, such as the top ten buildings in Beijing, Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, Xiamen Jimei Liberation Monument, Nanchang Uprising Monument, Nanjing Yuhuatai Martyrs Cemetery, The "Luhuitou" sculptures in Sanya, Hainan are all carved using stone produced in Fujian. Fujian is not only based on the domestic market, but also exported to the world. Fujian's stone carving products are mainly exported to foreign markets every year, such as Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, Italy, France, etc., especially the export of tombstones. The volume is astonishing, basically monopolizing the tombstone market in Japan and South Korea. The export volume and foreign exchange earnings of Fujian's stone carving products have always ranked first in the province. However, due to limitations of raw materials, stone carvings in Fujian are mainly granite. However, with the development of Fujian's stone industry and the supply of stone blocks, marble from all over the world can be easily purchased. Currently, the production of marble carving products There are also more and more.
Hebei Stone Sculpture and Beijing Stone Sculpture
Stone carvings in Hebei and Beijing are representatives of stone carvings in northern my country. They are mainly marble carvings, especially stone carvings made from white marble such as Fangshan white marble in Beijing, Quyang white marble in Hebei, and Shu white marble in Sichuan. They are well-known both at home and abroad. The stone carvings in Hebei and Beijing have various carving techniques and sophisticated skills, and are famous for carvings of human figures and animals. Hebei stone sculptures are mainly concentrated in Quyang, while Beijing's stone sculptures are mainly concentrated in Fangshan. Quyang in Hebei Province is one of the four major sculpture bases in my country and is known as the "Hometown of Stone Sculpture". Marble sculpture is its strong point. Quyang's marble sculpture has a history of more than 2,000 years. There are many famous stone carvers and masterpieces in the past. There are more than 1,000 large and small stone carving manufacturers. Quyang stone carvings are exported to more than 40 countries and regions, and their excellent works are well-known at home and abroad. Beijing stone sculptures have made great contributions to the construction of royal palaces and gardens in the past dynasties, and many masterpieces have been preserved to this day, such as the stone dragon sculptures in the Forbidden City. However, most of the stone carving companies in Beijing and Hebei are still relatively small in scale and are in the form of manual workshops. It has not yet reached large-scale production like Fujian.
Shandong stone carving
Shandong is also an important stone production base in my country, with well-developed granite carvings and marble carvings. Shandong's stone carvings are mainly concentrated in Qingdao, Pingdu, Laizhou, Tai'an, Jiaxiang and other regions, and its production has reached a certain scale and is also exported to many countries. However, due to Shandong's geographical advantages, Shandong's stone carving products are mainly exported to Japan and South Korea, as well as Taiwan and Southeast Asia. The types of stone carvings in Shandong are relatively monotonous. Its granite carvings are mainly Japanese-style stone lanterns and imitation stone sculptures; its marble carvings are mainly ancient and modern figures, lady statues, animals, and garden decoration sketches. The Jiaxiang area in Shandong has the most abundant sculptures. It is another "hometown of stone sculptures" in my country. Jiaxiang's stone sculptures also have a history of more than 2,000 years, such as the stone carvings of Wu's tombs and Han portraits in the Han Dynasty. A pair of large stone lions in Wu's Temple are the most famous in my country. The only existing stone lion art treasure with exact age records. Jiaxiang stone carvings are mainly made of limestone (Jiaxiang is rich in lapis lazuli), but there are also some granite and marble carvings. Jiaxiang Stone Carving has become the most important stone carving export production base in Shandong and will further expand and develop. The stone carvings in Laizhou, Shandong are also very good, especially in Laizhou Zhacun Town, whose stone carving processing has a history of thousands of years. Since Laizhou is rich in granite, the stone carvings in Laizhou are mainly granite carvings. In recent years, it has produced many giant granite carvings, such as the granite "Tiger Group" carved for Dalian Laohutan. The entire stone carving is 36 meters long. It is 7.6m wide and 3m high. It is composed of 6 stone tiger statues of different shapes, either looking up, leaning down or leaping, which are very lifelike. The statue is composed of more than 400 pieces of granite and weighs more than 130 tons. It is only one A tiger's hoof weighs more than 5 tons, making it a rare stone sculpture. The sculptures in Laizhou have relatively strong religious characteristics. An important theme of the stone carvings here is the stone carvings of various Bodhisattvas and Vajra heads, all of which are more than 2-3m in height. They are both beautiful in form and spirit, and slow as life.Guangdong stone carving
Stone carving in Guangdong also has a long history and a large output. Its production is mainly based in Yunfu. The products are mainly stone crafts and home decoration stone carvings, especially the production of stone furniture, which can be represented. reached the highest level in the country. Guangdong's stone carvings are mainly marble, and relying on the advantages and characteristics of Yunfu stone industry, it has also formed its own unique selling point. Since Yunfu has the most complete variety of marble in the country, Guangdong stone carvings have a wide range of varieties and are colorful. At the same time, due to the influence of Yunfu Stone's specialization in making fine materials, Guangdong stone carvings are also very specialized, precise and detailed. The products are deeply excavated. At the same time, they take a unique route and develop some new stone carvings that are not made in other places. Guangdong's stone carving products are mainly sold to the Middle East, European and American countries. However, Guangdong's stone carving companies generally have small production scales and lack large-scale processing capabilities.
Zhejiang stone carving
The stone carvings in Zhejiang are mainly marble carvings, and the varieties are relatively complex, but they are mainly decorative and crafts, such as some marble furniture and stone screens, stone tablets, stone waist drums and other stone crafts. However, in recent years, Zhejiang's stone carving industry has also begun to develop granite stone carvings. The production and export of Japanese-style tombstones has developed rapidly. The main stone carving producing areas in Zhejiang are Hangzhou, Qingtian, Wenling and other areas. Among them, Hangzhou mainly produces Hercules furniture, Wenling mainly produces decorative and living stone crafts, and Qingtian mainly produces art crafts (especially Collectible stone crafts).
Sichuan Stone Sculpture
Due to its abundant stone resources, Sichuan has a wide range of stone carving products, including granite, marble, sandstone, etc. Among them, Sichuan marble carvings are mainly made in Ya'an, especially Baoxing County. Like the stone carvings in Beijing and Hebei, the marble carvings in Sichuan (Baoxing) are mainly white marble carvings using Baoxing Shu white jade as raw material. Sandstone carvings in Sichuan are mainly found in Zigong, Chengdu, Meishan and other areas. Granite stone carvings are mainly produced in the Chengdu area, but are also produced in Ya'an, Panzhihua, Zigong and other places. Generally speaking, Sichuan stone carvings are mainly marble carvings, followed by sandstone and granite. Sichuan stone carving is also very complete, covering interior decoration carving, art carving, garden carving, craft carving, architectural carving, etc. At the same time, the output is also large, up to 100,000 pieces (sets) per year, and the products are sold nationwide and exported to the United States. , the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and other countries and regions. However, Sichuan's carvings are still relatively rough in terms of craftsmanship, and the processing technology needs to be improved.
Jiangsu stone carving
Jiangsu's stone carving industry has developed rapidly in recent years with stone carvings in northern Jiangsu. It is mainly famous for its stone carving products in Ganyu, and there are also some stone carving production areas in southern Jiangsu. Jiangsu stone carvings mainly focus on stone furniture and Japanese-style tombstones, and their export destinations are Japan and Southeast Asia.
